Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join our AFS Global team. Reporting to the Director – International Freight and Customs Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliant, accurate and efficient customs and quarantine clearance of import and export consignments. Working closely with the Freight Operations team, customers and government agencies, you will provide responsive support, guidance and problem-solving services while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliant and accurate customs and quarantine clearance of import and export consignments.
Build and maintain client relationships by providing advice and guidance.
Support Freight Operations staff with import and export clearance requirements.
Complete disbursement invoices where required.
Conduct tariff classification and valuation assessments.
Audit cleared consignments for compliance.
Monitor and improve customs clearance procedures.
Prepare and submit DAFF entries via COLS.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ABF, DAFF and ATO industry changes and trends.
Desired Skills and Experience
Australian Customs Broker Licence with 3–5 years' experience.
DAFF Accreditation (minimum 19.1).
Strong knowledge of air and sea freight processes.
Experience with CargoWise (highly desirable).
Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a time-pressured environment.
